Mom & Dad

The first Featured Ancestor(s) couple!

Note (above) that Mom is holding Dad’s finger.

They were so comfortable with one another and so much in love.

Whenever we had tire trouble the agreement was that Dad would do the hub caps and lug nuts if Mom inflated the spare. (Kidding!) I set up this photo op in 1962. Mom did a lot of hard work in her life but she never had to pump up a tire.

Mom & Dad met, married and started farming

Dad met Mom when he was invited to his cousin Jake’s wedding. Dad wrote, “In May 1942 we got married. I was drafted 5 days later. I went as a C.O. and spent about four years in different parts of the U.S. In Feb of 1946 I was released - the war was over and Eleaner and I headed for Kansas.

Canton, Kansas to be exact! So Eleaner and I, we started living.”

“My life has been full of good things. When I do get discouraged all I have to do is count my blessings and things are just pretty good! A-MEN”
